State Fair Fun

Summer has finally arrived in Alaska. Okay... that might be a slight exaggeration. But it is looking to be a gorgeous Labor Day weekend! Yesterday we took advantage of the nice weather and took the kids up to the state fair for the afternoon.

We saw ferris wheels and other rides (Bentley thought the roller coasters were too loud!), lots and lots of delicious looking food, a tractor display, some singing, an amazing (their descriptor, not mine!) dog stunt show, a lumber jack show, and lots and lots of animals. Sheep, lhamas, reindeer, cows, pigs, rabbits, birds... We also saw some fine looking Alaskan produce. We were at the fair during the giant cabbage weigh off, but missed it due to our attendance of the Lumberjack show:

Jackson not so sure about some of those animals:

Viva & Bentley enjoying the music:

Jackson, again, not too sure about some of the music:

Snack time! And don't worry, we understand it's not *right* to go to the fair and just eat golfdish. Corn fritters, chocolate dipped icecream, a chili bread bowl and fries were also on the menu. :-)

The tractor exhibit.

We met our fellow BOB (and the twins Patrick & Cassidy that belong in that BOB!) on our way out to flee the rain. Brave Amrita was just getting started on a 3 day fair time extravaganza. You're in our thoughts, Amrita!

It looks like Bently and Viva are toast and ready to be done with the whole fair thing, in the last photo!

Also, that looks like a HUGE container of goldfish! WOW! I'm lucky if Millikins will eat 5 goldfish in a week! (She is just not a snacker, wish I had that problem!)
