What is with little boys and their treasure hoards? Both Bentley and Jake like to hide the match box cars. Bentley used to do it to keep the babies from playing with them. Now Jake does it to keep Bentley from playing with them.

The other day I was in the kitchen when I noticed Jake was doing circuits from the family room to the living room. I followed him to see what was up. He was taking one car at a time and hiding it in the oven in Viva's Little Rose Cottage.

He had built up quite a pile when Viva became interested in his journeyings. She trailed him to the living room. A short scuffle ensued over the oven. Viva would open the oven door and Jake would slam it shut. After a few rounds of this Jake had had enough. He picked the oven up and moved it five feet away.

This was a brilliant tactic except for the fact that the oven is missing a bottom, so Jake left his hoard unprotected in the cottage when he moved the oven elsewhere. Some days are like that.

Here's a couple of shots I took a little later when Jake had once again moved his hoard and Viva had once again attempted a take over.



Viva really couldn't care less about the little cars. It's tweaking her brother's temper that's fun.
