Toe Jam

I don't know how you feel about toe jam, but Bentley has a very strong opinion about it: OUT! OUT!

He detests toe jam and does a toe jam check at least once, sometimes twice a day. At first it was an interesting little quirk, but now it's kind of annoying. When we help him get ready for bed at night, we have to patiently wait while he carefully checks between his toes for any sock fuzz. He does this every night without fail. Sometimes he does it in the morning, too, but not usually. Sleepers don't generally leave fuzz balls, so it's not as critical.

Part of the night-time toe jam check ritual is that he has Jake pull his socks off. Jake is very good at removing Bentley's socks. Sometimes he falls over backwards when the sock suddenly pops off Bentley's foot. If they're sitting on the tile floor in the bathroom, I have to watch out that Jake doesn't bang his head. OUCH!

One evening Bentley started checking out Jake's toes when I was changing Jake into his sleeper. NO! NO! I put a halt to that. Children should keep their quirks to themselves and not share them with their siblings. We do not need to multiply weirdness.
