Lincoln has begun to suspect that a lot goes on in the house after he goes to bed. The night the kids came home from Mexico he was already asleep because they came in on a 3AM (or later) flight. Often he sleeps through the night, but they made a little too much noise and he woke up. WOW! He was surprised to see them and not too excited about going back to bed. The next night was our first Friday of the on the month game night. Kara and Matt used to be able to put Lincoln to bed and he'd sleep through game night, but the past month or two it's been harder to convince him to go to sleep and stay asleep.
They had no luck at all on Friday. He was not about to go to sleep when so much was going on in the house. First he joined his siblings who hang out on game night in the upstairs family room watching movies and eating popcorn. He really liked their party, although he was not watching the movie when I checked in on them. His back was to the TV. His siblings found him a little bit of a trial.
I let him come downstairs. He had a great time. He joined the card game table for a while and then he moved over to the dice table. He was happy. He was very well behaved.
At midnight when the guests were leaving, Lincoln was still going strong.
His mom says he cannot continue to attend game night downstairs. Good luck with that plan. Lincoln's siblings aren't going to be able to keep him in line for three hours.
