Happy Birthday Mommy!

Our mommy is 25 today. Can you believe it? We had no idea she was that old, although from what we've seen that's not as old as lots of other mommies.

Our mommy is the best mommy! Really, THE BEST. She loves us very much. She even likes us! She thinks we are wonderful children and tells us so. We want her to know that her hard work has not gone unnoticed.

Here are some of the ways she shows us her love:

*** She's a very positive mommy. We like being with an upbeat mommy. She's fun to spend time with.

*** She's happy when she's with us even in the morning which is not her favorite time of day.

*** She lets us sleep in bed with her and daddy when we are unhappy, even though it usually means she doesn't get a good night's rest. We appreciate your sacrifice mommy!

*** She buys us lots of books and reads them to us. She takes us to the library for story time and to check out more books.

*** She tries very hard to make sure we eat good food. If that means offering three different foods for dinner, then she does that. (Sometimes she's a little grumpy if we refuse all three foods.)

*** She gives us baths twice a week. (Daddy gives us a third weekly bath on Saturdays.)

*** She lets us eat messy foods despite all the extra work it creates. (She has to clean up us and the bibs and the high chairs and the table and the floor and sometimes our clothes and her clothes, too.)

*** She arranges play dates for us--well, in the case of Amrita and the twins we know it's equally her play date just as much as ours.

*** She makes us special treats--banana bread, cake donuts, brownies, and chocolate chip cookies are some of our favorites.

*** She's not willing to let someone else raise us while she works no matter what the cost to her sanity.

*** She reads lots of parenting books so that she can be the best mommy possible for us. She tells daddy what she learns, so he's smart, too.

*** She does art projects with us--well, the oldest one of us. It's lots of fun and good for our creativity.

*** She finds ways to make our lives nice--a safari-themed bedroom, an awesome play table, our own book corner, a fish-themed bathroom, strollers for every occasion, etc.

*** She provides us with structure--regular naps, a regular bedtime (that gives us plenty of daddy time first!), and time outs, if needed.

*** She buys us the best baby products on the market. She wants us to be safe.

*** She went to a lot of trouble to bring us into the world. Thank you mommy! We're very glad to be here.

*** She provides us with extensive wardrobes. We like being well dressed. (Did we mention that she's very thrifty and gets most of our clothes at garage sales and thrift stores?)

*** She protects us twins from our overzealous older sibling.

*** She manages to find time for house projects even though we take up lots and lots and lots of her time. (We are a little worried mommy that you are setting the parental bar too high for us to follow in your footsteps. It's okay if you do nothing but play with us. Really, we'd understand.)

*** She searches out great toys for us to learn and grow with.

*** She arranges her schedule so that our photographer can visit us every day and take some great photos for our picasa website and for our blog.

*** She picked for us a very good daddy. Not all children are so fortunate.

*** She spends time just hanging out with us. She thinks we are fun to be with. She's right.

*** She takes us to church every Sunday even though it's not easy and she wonders if we are learning anything at our young age. We are mommy! Because you take us we know that church is important to you and daddy.

*** She lives near her parents so we can be spoiled by our grandparents. We also live near Grandpa Tim & Grandma Karen and she works our schedule so we can spend time with them, too. She invites Grandma Vicki to come and visit us.

*** She takes us to visit our out-of-state relatives. Or, if she can't go, she arranges for us to go with daddy or our grandparents.

*** She writes a blog about us, and encourages Grandma Julia to contribute to the blog, so that we have a journal of our first years.

WE LOVE OUR MOMMY! She's lovely and kind and patient and fun and very smart--she chose to have us!

P.S. We stole the idea for this post from the post that mommy wrote about daddy last week. She has such good ideas!

P.S.S. After mommy's birthday party this evening we'll post some photos of our mommy.
