Bentley wanted a rainbow cake for his birthday. They're not too hard, so I was happy to oblige. His lack of interest in frosting does, however, make it a bit tricky for the poor candle to get a good grip. So we just sank it into that cushy cake!
Viva and Jake were very excited about their brother's birthday. They helped to make Bentley a cool pillowcase as a hand made gift and Viva took her money and (very seriously) searched out a gift at Target. She was very cute, insisting on paying for it with her own quarters at the checkout counter! I love that the kids like to celebrate with each other. It makes me happy!
I told Bentley that in honor of his birthday we could take the day off from school - but he informed me that he really wanted to do his favorite thing, Saxon math, on his birthday. Okdoky. :)
So we did math in the morning, and then a few board games were played. After that Bentley, Jake, and Viva went out ice skating with Grandma. In the evening we had grandparents, friends, and other relatives over for cake, icecream, and presents. Last but not least? Harry Potter #3 movie night, and a good time sleeping in the tent.
