FIRST Tech Challenge

Yesterday afternoon Mark took Jake and Bentley over to the university to check out the FIRST Tech Challenge competition. It is a science and technology competition for junior high and high school students. It involves building robots and programming them to do a series of tasks. The FIRST organization has programs for all age levels. Last year Bentley participated in the Junior FIRST Lego League program. It wasn't a competition at that age level.

The boys seemed to enjoy watching the robots attempt their challenges. Mark said most of the robots failed at their tasks. Building robots isn't easy or we'd see more of them around!
