Lincoln's Favorites

When Lincoln likes something he will drag it out five times a day, seven days a week. The adults in the household groan when they see him coming. Great-grandma gets the worst of it because she's a sitting target.

First it was the animal cards. Every morning he would come downstairs and head for them. He still takes them out a couple times a day, but he's expanded his favorites to include other must play with items. At the top of the list currently are certain wooden puzzles.

This is his most favorite puzzle. He knows where all the pieces go because he has done it so often.

He also has a few peg puzzles he likes to do.

There is a foam book that has puzzle pieces that come out. I've been known to hide the book because I am tired of putting the pieces back in. Sometimes I take it downstairs, but he always finds it. Drat that kid!

This past week great-grandma has spent hours helping Lincoln create Mr. Potato Head creations. Lincoln has been co-opting a lot of her time. Her Sudoku puzzles are piling up.

Another favorite toy of his is the Hot Wheels racetrack. Hot Wheels are for three year olds and up, but because he has older brothers he has access to them.

Lincoln has brought the Hasbro Honeybee Hop toy back into popularity. When the older kids ask to play with it they are discouraged from using it, but Lincoln usually gets what he wants. It's a simple toy with a rotating rod that you jump, hop, or skip over. Lincoln occasionally runs through its path while it's rotating, but mostly he likes to watch his siblings go wild.

A list of Lincoln's favorites would not be complete without mentioning books. He loves books. He has favorite titles, of course. He has a particular page in Sandra Boynton's book Snoozers that he makes his mom read to him ten times in a row. Lately when he comes into my room he always pulls That's Not My Robot off the shelf.
