Books!

Bentley loves to look at books. He has always enjoyed books, but over the past couple of months his interest has grown stronger and stronger. He "reads" on his own, but he much prefers to read with someone. He'll capture any willing adult he can. He starts by bringing you a large stack of books--usually three to five, but sometimes as many as ten. Depending on who the adult is, he either gets them to read the book to him or he points to things on the page which you name for him or you ask him "where is the cat/comb/moon" and he will point it out on the page.

Often when we work through the entire stack of books, he will want to start all over again. Or he wants to read one particular book two or three times in a row. He has definite favorites, which change after a week or two. Last month at my house the top pick was Bear on a Bike. The current favorite is Goodbye Moon and My Mama Is a Llama is an ascending favorite.

When the twins are his age will they agree to look at books with me together or will I be spending endless hours perusing children's board books?! It's a good thing the grandchildren own hundreds of books (variety!) or my sanity would not survive.
