Grandma's Shadow

For the first week of the older children's Mexico vacation Lincoln was having a hard time.

He was teething.

He was getting over the flu.

He has a new baby brother to get used to.

His favorite person (aka Dad) and his favorite little peeps (all 3 of them) suddenly disappeared.

You can easily understand, I am sure, how disturbing this all might be when put together!  So what's a toddler to do?  Keep track of the people who are left, of course!  And, to be more specific, keep track of Grandma.  Grandma ranks up there right after Daddy on Lincoln's favorite list.  Mommy is still chopped liver since the whole hospital stay and bed rest fiasco.  Adding in the no heavy lifting c-section requirement and I'm having trouble digging out of the hole he's got me in!

Since Daddy disappeared Lincoln figured it would be best to not allow Grandma out of his sight.  He's a smart kid, and figured she couldn't disappear if he didn't lose sight of her.  At all.  A 3 foot radius was the name of the game.  Preferably skin to skin contact!

It was a long few days (for Grandma).  But, luckily for her, Lincoln is now allowing her a bit more range on her leash.

On the bright side?  It's not too hard to be chained to a face this cute:

(Don't you love that hair???  He's gorgeous!)
