Fablehaven

Bentley spent the past week reading Fablehaven every free minute he had. Fablehaven is a children's fantasy series (five books) written by Brandon Mull. Matt has read the first three books in the series to the older children and he is currently reading the fourth to them. A few months ago Viva read the first three books. When I asked her when she read them, she told me it was "when I was six." 

Viva is currently reading The Children of the Lamp series by P.B. Kerr. Before Bentley started on Fablehaven, he read the first three in the Children of the Lamp series. He told me he read the first chapter in the fourth book and he's not sure he's going to finish the series. Huh? Just what is in that first chapter? I'm guessing something scary.

Jake is reading the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. He has read the first five books. He's not an avid reader like his siblings. He's a very good reader, but it's not his first (or second) choice of activity. Jake would rather look online at Lego sets!
