New Sunday Schedule

Our church meeting time has changed. We are going two hours later now which means we have some free time on Sunday morning before we go to church. Kara informed Viva this morning that this meant there would be time for Kara to do fancy braids in Viva's hair every Sunday. Usually Viva likes having her done by her mother, but Kara's timing was a little off on her announcement. Kara was trying out a new, complicated braid-bun combination and it took a while to create it. Viva was tired of standing (and sitting and lying on the couch on her stomach) and so when Kara said she wanted to make this a Sunday routine, Viva responded that she would allow her mother to do her hair once a month.

Meanwhile how did Jake and Bentley spend their Sunday morning? Bentley went online to play a chess game. Kara has signed him up to play chess online against other children 12 and under. He's played quite a few games the past week. Jake hasn't been given an account yet, but he wants one. Viva is not interested in chess. (Too bad because Kara could sneak up and do her hair while she played!)

Jake worked on Legos. I think he even had his opa building Legos with him for a while. Will this become a Sunday morning tradition? The children have so many interests (which is good!) that favorite activities are always changing.

We skipped out on the church nursery today because Lincoln and Evan have been sick this past week. Kara stopped in to drop off the food she'd signed up to bring. She said it was not a pleasant place--two of the children were crying. It's going to be a rough year in nursery because it's during nap time for a lot of the little ones.
