Yesterday Jake spent a couple of hours with us and he discovered the new Little People Medieval Castle. He thought it was grand.
Next we must have Viva over and see if she likes it. She might not because we are missing the queen, but I did find a girl Little People at the bottom of the toy basket that I threw in with the castle people.
Speaking of which, remember that I wrote that I confiscated a second knight and horse from the kids' Little People collection at home and that Kara threw in a little Pretty Pony to round out the set? Well, when Bentley spent a few minutes with the castle this morning before we left for church, he threw the Pretty Pony out of the castle.
Seriously. He walked over and immediately plucked it from the group and tossed it behind him. I rescued the poor little thing and stuck it on top of the castle tower. Bentley grabbed it right off and threw it part way across the room this time. "One of these things is not like the others."
Was this the right time for a lecture on diversity? Although not everyone looks alike, they should be welcomed into the group. Or was his reaction a sign that he's a math prodigy and loves sorting and patterns? So far he hasn't clued in that the girl Little People isn't a medieval character. Will she be the next to be ousted from the castle? (This is like a Survivor episode!)
