Viva Fashionista

Viva is a very well dressed little girl. Sure her brothers are well dressed, too, but their wardrobe isn't half as cute as hers. Almost every pair of jeans she owns (and she owns dozens--in various sizes) are decorated with embroidered flowers or bedazzled with rhinestones. Cute boy pants have an extra few pockets on them or a stripe down the side. That's it. Viva's clothing is way fancier than anything I own. I envy that girl her wardrobe.

She has dresses in every color of the rainbow. She has denim dresses, gingham dresses, striped dresses, floral dresses, smocked dresses, tye-died dresses, party dresses, holiday dresses, play dresses, short dresses, and long dresses. The girl has a wardrobe fit for a princess. (In her family's opinion she is a princess.)

I thought I'd give you a short fashion show of the dresses Viva has worn in the past two months (May 7 to July 6). She did not repeat wearing a dress during that time period. She has too many in her collection to back track. She wore one denim skirt twice, but it was paired with a different top.

I might have missed a dress or two during the two months I scanned daily photos of Viva. There were many days when she didn't wear a dress because she has lots of cute pants and overalls. I decided to limit my photo selection to dresses. Oddly enough, the most popular color was blue denim (4 jumpers and 1 skirt) followed by green (4 dresses). I thought pink would be the top color! She wore dresses 25 out of the 61 days. She's a doll baby, I'm sure you'll agree.

PS In case you think Viva's mom is spending her college fund on baby clothes, I want you to know that all the dresses Viva wore over the past two months were purchased at garage sales or thrift stores for an average cost of $1 to $2 each. (Perhaps one or two were gifts from friends or family. It's possible!) When Viva is done with the dresses Kara will resell them for close to what she bought them for.

Collecting little girl dresses is a harmless enough hobby. Viva looks adorable. The family bank account is safe. Kara has fun treasure seeking for the dresses. Opa has fun taking Viva's photo in the dresses.
