Viva & the Nutcracker

Geneveive had a special treat this past weekend: the Nutcracker with Grandma Karen!  The little dear wouldn't let me grab her picture, but she was very excited to dress up in her tutu to go out and see the show.  I think she was perhaps expecting that she would get to jump up onto the stage and join in at some point?!

Grandma Karen says she was very good.  I think the well stocked bag of snacks Grandma Karen had maybe helped a little bit, and the great seats up near the action!  Partly into the second act Viva asked Grandma Karen how much of the show was left.  Grandma Karen told her there was a little bit more.  When the show was over Viva commented that "a little bit takes a long time"!  :-)

She came home excited about the show and shared the whole plot with us, and now enjoys pulling down her Clara musical ballerina "box" every night to wind up and look at.  She told the boys they would like it because there were scary rats and bad pirates.  Something for everyone!

She's ready to be a ballerina.  (For the record, I think she'll make a good one when her Mom lets her start lessons... !).

Thanks for the magical time, Grandma Karen!
