Another Gorgeous Day

Bentley got a new bike today!  It is a 7 gear with hand brakes, we're getting pretty fancy shmancy around here.  :)  We've been looking for a bike with 20 inch tires and this morning the bike shop (where we have our name on file so they know we want a used bike... ) called to let us know they received 2 20"ers yesterday!  Opa and Bentley promptly headed over (thanks, Opa!).  The Giant brand one has a nice low crossbar so it was the winner - easy enough for our little guy to get on, and it still has nice big tires so he has a better chance of keeping up with adult sized bikes.

So now Jake moves to the 16" wheel, and the 12" wheel bike is retired, awaiting Lincoln and Evan.  It's starting to look a bit like a bike shop around here with all these kids and their bikes... !

Lincoln has been practicing with his trike but he hasn't quite got the hang of it yet.  There are more important things in life after all - balls, and more balls.  And cowboy boots.

Lastly, the weather.  We have had sun, sun, and more sun.  It's almost too much for my poor Alaskan body that lives in a place where homes have no air conditioning.  Not that I'm whining... not TOO much, in any case.  Last summer we had a record July for rain (4th rainest ever), and apparently the Weather Serviced labeled us as the city with "worst summer weather" in the nation.  Which, BTW, I think is ridiculous.  I'd much rather have some rain than live in, say, Phoenix.  For the record.

Back to the story, OUR weather.  This year?  We've already had a few weeks of high 70s and low 80s, and this next week is supposed to be the same.  I read that parts of town might hit 90.  90!  That's ridiculous.  We will continue to soak it up the sun and enjoy the outdoor fun!
