Genevieve's very first gymnastics meet was today! I'm so impressed with how much she's learned since enthusiastically taking up gymnastics this past February. The meet was out in Wasilla, so I was quite thankful for dry roads and minimal snow to aid our travels. She was a bit anxious going into it, so she woke up super early: 7 am! Afterwards, the verdict? "I had a great time and it really wasn't scary at all, Mommy!" Good news indeed.

For the Level 3s, the meet coordinators decided not to do rankings. I'm told this is common. Instead each girl is given a ribbon for each event, with colors corresponding to the point range the numbers are within. The goal is to eventually have all blue ribbons which would mean at least a 9 (out of 10) on all the events. Viva's goal for her first meet was to get at least 7s, and she met that goal!
Video clips of her events (yes, I know... you have to squint to see her!!!):
Way to go, Viva!
