Matt and Jake are off on their first solo adventure. We've mentioned before that Jake is the only one of the older children who hasn’t had a vacation on their own with their dad. Bentley's had three such trips, Viva two. Jake didn't feel ready until just this year. He's a homebody. Viva did solo trips to Grandma Karen's house months before Jake would go. Doing things at your own pace is okay.
They left last night on the red eye to Seattle and then on to Las Vegas. They are staying at Grandpa Tim's vacation home. Matt thought he was booking time alone with Jake, but it turns out that the first week in March is a very popular time for Altmans to visit Las Vegas. Matt's dad, brother, uncle, and cousin with their significant others will be joining him and Jake. It's going to be a party!
We'll be bugging Matt to post the full report when he gets back.
I'm going to miss my Jakie A LOT.
