Jake was a good sport and tried a few different poses with us during our photo shoot last Sunday. He specifically wanted his picture taken with "his" baby. They're a photogenic pair, don't you think?!
Jake, and Viva, have provided their brother Evan with copious amounts of adoration and love. Jake likes to kiss baby every time he walks by him. 10 times. On the cheeks, on the nose, on the head, on his cute little hands (Jake's words), on his feet.... okay. That last part was in jest. But not the rest! Our Jake is very affectionate, and he has decided to pour out that affection on Evan. It's very sweet.
It all started a few weeks back when I told Jake and Viva about how Evan would be *their* special baby. I explained how they were about the same age Bentley was when Lincoln was born, so they would be just the right age to be perfect older siblings for the new baby. Just like Bentley was last year with Lincoln! They really latched onto this idea.
When they showed up at the hospital to meet Evan they almost gave the impression that they had come to inspect a new property they'd acquired. It was cute. They examined his little hands and feet. They exclaimed over his soft, soft skin and how good he smelled. They informed their father and me that they liked him, and that they would "do everything" except feed him.
I'm glad they approve and that we can keep him! Whew!
