Finally SNOW!

Sunday or Monday we finally got a little snow, nothing phenomenal, but at least it was enough to get the children excited. They all donned their winter gear on Tuesday and went outside to shovel off the back deck. I turned on the speakers on the deck and piped out some Christmas tunes. I let Lincoln go out with them. (Kara was taking great-grandma to the dentist, so I was in charge.) He could barely move in his snow suit, but he loved it. I had to yank him inside after his siblings moved from the deck to the front yard.

After the children got the deck all cleared off it snowed again and so they went back outside on Wednesday to clear the deck again. Viva wasn't as interested in clearing off the deck as the boys were. She wanted to sled in the front yard. It was warm enough that Bentley and Jake spent over three hours outside. Viva was outside for at least two hours. Lincoln was outside for a much shorter period of time.

Anchorage's official season-to-date snowfall is now at 22.7 inches which is 16 inches more that it was a week ago, but I don't think we received that many inches in our part of town. We usually get more than midtown where the official measurement is taken, but recent snowfalls didn't hit us as hard.
