Another Moose

Here's the photo Mark took of the moose tracking across our backyard this evening.

It's rare to see an adult moose in velvet. This is the first good photo that Mark has taken of a moose in velvet. (Velvet is a soft furry skin that covers the antlers while they are growing and then it falls off. This skin transports nutrients to support antler growth. It takes three to five months to grow the antlers making them one of the fastest growing animal organs. Huh? Antlers are organs? I didn't know that before I did a little research tonight.)
